Moorgreen Colliery closes

Moorgreen Colliery, the last deep coalmine at Eastwood, finished production on 19th July 1985. It was one of two collieries in the NCB South Nottinghamshire Area announced for closure prior to the start of 1984-85 miner strike. Manpower and production had gradually been rundown to closure since May 1983 (see post https://miningheritage.co.uk/moorgreen-and-pye-hill-closures/
