East Midlands Coalmining Heritage Forum: autumn 2023 meeting.

 

About the Event: The South Derbyshire Mining Preservation Group are hosting the next meeting of the East Midlands Coalmining Heritage Forum (EMCHF).

 

Venue: Conkers, Rawdon Road (B586), B Millennium Avenue, Moira, near Swadlincote, South Derbyshire. BE12 6GA

 

Date and Times: Saturday, 14th October 2023 (10am – 1pm)

 

Format and Agenda for the morning.

10.00 – 10.30 Arrival and coffee (coffee can be purchased from the café on arrival)

10.30 Meeting of the East Midlands Mining Heritage Forum

11.30 – c12.00 Introduction to the SDMPG Mining Display at Conkers – Keith Moore

12.00 – c13.00 Guided tour of the display and exhibits by members of the SDMPG

13.00 Meeting ends

 

Cost: Free event, open to all organisations or individuals with an interest in the coalmining heritage of the East Midlands

The EMCHF was formed in 2016 with the main aims of;

  • improving networking between coalmining heritage groups and interested individuals in the East Midlands region with regards to information, collections, requests for assistance and marketing of local coalmining heritage events.

 

  • Try to ensure important coalmining heritage collections and documentation in the East Midlands region are not lost and are preserved for future generations.
