Newstead Brass Band were the main act at the 2023 coal mining heritage day at Papplewick Pumping Station, near Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire.

The coalmining section hosts the former Linby Colliery steam winding engine and various coal displays. Music was provided by Newstead Brass Band and Borderland Folk with pit poetry readings by Kath Bartholomew, Roger Cornish and David Amos. Historical Coalmining Entertainer, David Coleman, gave a performance of his unique coalmining show.
